Hyderabad: The Tungabhadra dam meeting brought together the Chief Ministers of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka at Hospet ahead of the inauguration of the newly installed gates at the Tungabhadra Project.
The leaders met at the IRB Guest House before the inauguration ceremony. Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil also attended the meeting.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar participated in the discussions.
Tungabhadra dam meeting focuses on water issues
According to official sources, the leaders discussed water sharing among the three states, management of river projects and inter-state cooperation on water resources. Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav and Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu also attended the meeting. The interaction took place before the formal inauguration of the newly installed gates at the Tungabhadra Project.

Authorities recently completed the installation of the new gates after one of the dam gates was washed away. They carried out the work on a priority basis to restore the project’s operational capacity. Consequently, the meeting of the three Chief Ministers attracted attention among people living in the Tungabhadra basin as well as political circles.
