International Nurses Day celebrated at Niloufer Hospital

Hyderabad: Niloufer Hospital celebrated International Nurses Day in the presence of Hyderabad In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.

Rajya Sabha member Anil Kumar Yadav, Fisheries Corporation Chairman Mettu Sai Kumar, Hyderabad Collector Priyanka Ala and DMHO Venkat attended the programme.

Niloufer Hospital Superintendent Dr Vijay Kumar, RDO Ramakrishna, nurses and hospital staff also participated in the event.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar felicitated nurses of Niloufer Hospital for their dedicated services to society.

International Nurses Day highlights role of nurses

Addressing the gathering, the minister extended greetings to nurses on the occasion of International Nurses Day.

He said nursing was a profession rooted in service and compassion. He also said honouring nurses recognised their contribution to healthcare.

Ponnam Prabhakar appreciated nurses for caring for patients despite pressure and challenges in hospitals.

He said nurses played a key role in patient recovery through care, support and service.

The minister said Niloufer Hospital had provided healthcare services to children for several decades. He added that the hospital receives nearly 1,500 outpatients daily and has around 2,000 inpatient beds.

Ponnam Prabhakar said nurses protect public health and serve as the backbone of the medical sector through dedicated service.

Recalling the COVID-19 pandemic, he said the services nurses rendered during critical situations would remain unforgettable.

He also said nurses instilled courage and confidence among patients and emerged as symbols of humanity and compassion.

The minister informed that Damodar Raja Narasimha would distribute appointment letters to nurses later in the evening.
