Hyderabad RTC bus driver booked after wrong-route video goes viral

Hyderabad: A RTC bus driver has come under police scrutiny after a video allegedly showing him driving on the wrong side of the road in Hyderabad went viral on social media.

The incident reportedly caused panic among motorists travelling in the opposite direction.

According to witnesses, the driver continued driving on the wrong route despite objections from bikers and car drivers.

When some motorists asked him to move to the correct lane, he allegedly reacted angrily.

Witnesses said a traffic police officer also warned the driver.

However, the driver allegedly attempted to continue on the wrong side.

A biker then positioned his motorcycle in front of the bus and urged the driver to return to the proper lane.

During the commotion, the bus allegedly collided with an autorickshaw carrying passengers.

A commuter travelling in a nearby car recorded the incident and shared the video on social media.

The individual also urged authorities to take action against the driver.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Traffic Police responded to the viral post and confirmed that they had registered a case.

Officials said they would initiate appropriate action based on the investigation.

Authorities identified the vehicle as a Route 195W RTC bus.

Police found that the bus had allegedly violated traffic rules on eight previous occasions.

Officials also found pending traffic challans amounting to Rs 3,480 against the vehicle.

The video has triggered criticism on social media, with several users demanding strict action against the driver.
