Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 moved to the centre of discussions as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The leaders discussed the proposed metro expansion. They also reviewed IRFC funding and key Telangana projects. In addition, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy continued his Delhi tour. He held a series of meetings to secure support for major infrastructure proposals.
Earlier, the Chief Minister met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Their discussions focused on Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 and the proposed IRFC loan. Kishan Reddy also joined that meeting.
Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 discussed with key Union ministers
The latest meeting brought together Khattar, Vaishnaw, Kishan Reddy and Revanth Reddy. During the talks, they reviewed the metro expansion proposal and funding requirements. They also examined other important projects linked to Telangana.
In this context, the discussions gained significance. The state government has intensified efforts to secure approvals and financial support for the metro project. Earlier, Revanth Reddy had criticised the Centre and Kishan Reddy over delays linked to the proposal.
However, the current meetings reflected a coordinated approach. The ministers discussed issues related to urban development, railways and project financing.
After meeting Vaishnaw on Monday, Revanth Reddy said the discussions had progressed positively. Subsequently, attention shifted to the outcome of the talks with Khattar.
Meanwhile, political circles closely watched the Delhi meetings. As a result, expectations grew over progress on Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 and the proposed IRFC funding.
Following the meeting, Revanth Reddy was expected to brief the media in Delhi. He was set to explain the status of the discussions with Union ministers.
