SCR General Manager reviews freight expansion at Ultratech Cement siding

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava inspected the Ultratech Cement siding at Malkhaid railway station to review freight operations, infrastructure and future expansion plans. Senior railway officials accompanied him during the inspection.

The inspection began with a track review from Secunderabad to Tandur aboard a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)-equipped coach. The technology uses electromagnetic scanning to assess track conditions without disrupting train operations.

Ultratech Cement siding inspected for freight growth

At Malkhaid railway station, the General Manager examined freight handling facilities, loading infrastructure and train monitoring systems at the siding’s Central Control Room. He also witnessed demonstrations of modern technologies designed to improve operational efficiency.

The inspection was attended by K. Padmaja, Principal Chief Operations Manager, and Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager of the Secunderabad Division, along with other senior railway officials.

During a meeting with Ultratech officials, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava reviewed future development initiatives and discussed innovative measures to enhance freight movement through the Ultratech Cement siding.

The General Manager also received representations from local residents and stakeholders seeking improvements in railway services in the region.
