Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju directed officials to strengthen the Employees Health Care Trust to ensure timely and quality medical services for Telangana government employees, pensioners and their family members.
Chairing a meeting of the Telangana Employees Health Care Trust at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Friday, the Chief Secretary reviewed the implementation of the employees’ health scheme. During the meeting, he examined hospital services, treatment package rates and issues affecting beneficiaries.
Sanjay Jaju instructed the committee to ensure the effective utilisation of the Health Care Trust Fund. Further, he said officials should review the scheme regularly and introduce changes whenever necessary. Accordingly, the government will continue improving the scheme so employees receive better medical services.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed the existing treatment package rates in detail. In addition, he asked officials to revise the rates whenever required to improve healthcare delivery.
Employees Health Care Trust to get executive committee
The meeting decided to constitute an executive committee and sub-committees to improve the functioning of the Employees Health Care Trust. These committees will also review treatment package rates, hospital empanelment, service quality and financial management on a regular basis. They will then submit recommendations to the Trust.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Jaju directed officials to establish a dedicated system for employees and pensioners requiring emergency medical treatment. He further asked them to introduce a 24-hour support mechanism. Besides this, he called for faster approval procedures and stronger coordination with empanelled hospitals.
Finally, the Chief Secretary said the Trust should operate transparently and efficiently. As a result, beneficiaries should receive quality healthcare without inconvenience under the health scheme.

Chongthu, Director General of Police Shikha Goel, Health Care Trust CEO Jendage Hanumanth Kondiba, Secretaries Shruti Ojha, Divya and Sikta Patnaik, along with representatives of employee associations, attended the meeting.
