Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the government would expedite digital health cards for employees under its health security measures.
Bhatti said the government had accorded priority to employee welfare and health security. Therefore, it had committed to speeding up the issuance of digital health cards to employees.
He said officials had also taken steps to address issues raised with ministers and senior officers. Such matters would immediately go to the concerned Heads of Departments and Secretaries for prompt resolution.
Digital health cards backed by EHS Trust
Bhatti told the Legislative Council that the government had constituted a dedicated trust to manage the Employees Health Scheme effectively. Representatives from employee and teachers’ associations had also joined the trust as members.
The government had entrusted the representatives and trustees with direct monitoring of the scheme’s implementation. As a result, they would have a role in overseeing how the EHS operated for beneficiaries.
Bhatti said the Finance Department had deposited a corpus fund of ₹264 crore into the EHS Trust account. The allocation formed part of the institutional arrangements established for the employee health scheme.
Meanwhile, the government had created a formal mechanism to deal with minor problems during implementation. Under this arrangement, employee association leaders and trustees could discuss such issues and work towards their resolution.
The Deputy Chief Minister also stressed stronger coordination between the government and employee associations. He said such coordination was necessary to ensure effective implementation of the EHS at the grassroots level.
In addition, Bhatti appealed to members of the Legislative Council to spread awareness among beneficiaries. He asked them to inform eligible employees about the scheme and its implementation.
The government’s push for digital health cards formed part of these measures to strengthen health security for employees. Bhatti said the administration had prioritised both employee welfare and effective implementation of the EHS.
