Telangana Food Commission inspections held in Medchal

Hyderabad: Telangana Food Commission inspections covered ration shops and a social welfare institution in Medchal on Friday. The team checked food supplies, distribution records and meal quality.

Food Commission chairman Goli Srinivas Reddy led the team during the field visit. The officials first inspected several fair price shops in Medchal town.

They checked the stock details, e-POS machines and distribution records at the shops. The team also asked dealers whether beneficiaries were receiving quality rice and other essential commodities as per government rules.

The chairman and commission members directed dealers to maintain records transparently. They also told them to distribute commodities according to the prescribed rules.

The officials asked dealers to ensure that ration card holders faced no difficulties while collecting their supplies. They stressed the need to prevent irregularities in record keeping.

Telangana Food Commission inspections focus on student meals

Later, the team visited the Telangana Social Welfare Residential School and Junior College at Kistapur village. The institution falls under the Medchal GHMC Circle office limits.

There, the officials inspected the kitchen and checked stocks of essential food items. They also assessed the quality of food served to students.

The team instructed the staff to follow prescribed food quality standards. In addition, officials stressed the need to keep the kitchen and surrounding areas clean at all times.

The commission members directed staff to provide nutritious food according to the prescribed menu. They warned that officials would take action if staff showed negligence in providing meals.

Meanwhile, officials from the concerned departments and local staff took part in the Telangana Food Commission inspections.

The team examined the functioning of the public distribution system and welfare institution during the field visit. Officials also checked whether beneficiaries and students were receiving services according to the prescribed standards.
