CPI leader urges CM Revanth Reddy to deliver on poll promises

Hyderabad: CPI State Secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao on Wednesday urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to focus on fulfilling unimplemented Assembly election promises. He stated that two years had passed since the Congress came to power and public scrutiny had intensified.

Addressing a press conference at Makhdoom Bhavan, Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao acknowledged the implementation of several welfare schemes. He listed free power supply, Rs.500 LPG cylinders, Indiramma houses, issuance of ration cards, and free bus travel for women as fulfilled assurances.

However, he said the government had failed to implement key poll promises. He specifically referred to the pending Rs.2,500 monthly financial assistance for women, Rs.4,000 social security pensions, and the promise of one tola gold under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme.

Meanwhile, the CPI leader criticised the Centre, alleging erosion of constitutional values. He called for a united struggle against the Union government. Additionally, he mentioned ongoing water disputes with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

CPI leader urges CM to avoid politicisation of river issues

Kunamneni warned against politicising river water disputes and urged collective action in the larger interest of Telangana. He said political differences should not weaken the State’s position on inter-state water sharing issues.

In addition, he flagged the exploitation of outsourcing employees in the State. He said salary cuts and pending arrears had caused severe hardship to workers. He urged the government to intervene and resolve their grievances without delay.

The CPI leader also advised the Congress to strengthen ties with friendly parties ahead of the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections. He cited the CPI’s performance in the recent Panchayat elections, stating that the party had won 94 sarpanch posts.

He further announced that CPI centenary celebrations would now be held in Khammam on January 18. He said the party would invite Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to attend the event.
