Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy released investment support under Rythu Bharosa at Narmetta in Siddipet district, announcing that ₹9,000 crore would reach farmers within 45 days.
He said the funds would begin crediting into farmers’ accounts from Monday. The disbursal forms part of the state’s ongoing financial support to the agriculture sector.
At the programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated an oil palm factory completed in 17 months and dedicated it to farmers. He also launched and initiated development works worth ₹775 crore across the district.
Chief Minister pushes Rythu Bharosa and farm reforms
Addressing the public meeting, he stressed crop diversification to improve farm income and sustainability. He also directed officials to remain alert to possible shortages of gas and urea amid global conflicts.
He emphasised the need to promote modern farming practices and ensure remunerative prices. In addition, he called for expanding exports to international markets. He said the government would take responsibility to make agriculture more profitable and future-ready.
Highlighting production, he said Telangana procured 71 lakh metric tonnes of paddy this year. As a result, the state emerged as a leading contributor to food grain output.
Following the factory launch, he urged farmers to expand oil palm cultivation from 3 lakh acres to 10 lakh acres. He assured procurement support to make cultivation viable.
He stated that the government spent ₹1.30 lakh crore on farmer welfare. This included free power, MSP support, bonuses, loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa, insurance, and compensation for crop losses.
He called for collective efforts beyond political differences to achieve development. At the same time, he said the government would ensure balanced growth across constituencies.
Farmers across the state watched the programme through 1,600 Rythu Vedikas.
Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Damodar Rajanarsimha, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Vivek Venkataswamy attended the event. Advisor Sudarshan Reddy, MPs Raghunandan Rao and Vem Narender Reddy, along with MLAs, MLCs, corporation chairpersons, Collector Hymavathi, and senior officials were also present.
