Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will hold its “Chalo Saroornagar Yuva Sangrama Sadassu” at Saroornagar Stadium on July 18. The party said the event would highlight the Congress government’s alleged failure to fulfil its Congress job promises made before the 2023 Assembly elections.
BRS leaders unveiled the conference poster on Monday. They said the party’s youth and student wings would organise the programme. BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao is expected to attend.
Congress job promises to dominate July 18 meeting
MLC Shambipur Raju alleged that the Congress had failed to honour assurances made by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at Saroornagar before the Assembly elections. According to him, the government had not implemented the key commitments even after two-and-a-half years in office. He also alleged that recruitment had not progressed despite thousands of vacancies in government departments.
Meanwhile, MLA Devireddy Sudheer Reddy claimed that promises on fee reimbursement, job notifications and employment support remained unfulfilled. Former minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy alleged that the government had failed to fill nearly 20,000 vacancies each in the police and education departments. She also criticised the arrest of people demanding recruitment.
Further, former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav alleged that the Congress had misled unemployed youth with its pre-election assurances. He urged young people from across Telangana to attend the July 18 conference.
According to BRS leaders, the conference aims to pressure the state government to fulfil its election promises and speed up recruitment to vacant government posts.
