TGO seeks vehicle rental hike to Rs 60,000 for government departments

Hyderabad: The TGO has asked the government to increase the rent paid for private vehicles used for official duties in government departments. The association wants the rent raised to at least Rs 60,000.

TGO state president Eluri Srinivasa Rao, general secretary B Shyam and other office-bearers submitted a petition to R&B Special CS Ilambarthi seeking the hike. They told the government that diesel prices have risen drastically in the last nine years.

The association also complained that drivers’ wages, insurance and spare parts now cost far more than before. It said vehicle owners cannot afford to work at the old charges.

Demand to relax taxi rules

The TGO also asked the government to relax the taxi regulations. It wants the yellow plate rule lifted so that departments can hire white number plate vehicles on rent.
