MP Vamsi flags bias against Telangana in central allocations

Hyderabad: Peddapalli Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna on Wednesday alleged bias against Telangana by the Centre and said the state was being denied its due in fund allocation and infrastructure support. He made the remarks while inaugurating the Ambedkar Premier League cricket tournament at Singareni Stadium in Godavarikhani.

Addressing the gathering, Vamsi Krishna said the Union Government was extending greater financial support to Andhra Pradesh while neglecting Telangana. He also questioned Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, saying he had failed to protect the interests of Telangana despite being elected from the state. The MP framed the issue as part of a wider pattern of bias against Telangana in central decision-making.

He cited infrastructure gaps to press his argument. Andhra Pradesh had nine airports, he said, while Telangana had only one. He added that the disparity had already been raised during the recent Budget Session of Parliament. The comparison, he said, reflected how Telangana continued to receive less attention in key sectors.

MP links bias against Telangana to funds, airports and worker demands

Vamsi Krishna also said he would continue to pursue approval for an Employees’ State Insurance hospital in Ramagundam. He said the effort would not stop until clearance was secured. In the same address, he demanded that Singareni pensions be increased to Rs.10,000 a month. He also sought income tax exemption for Singareni workers, linking those demands to the need for stronger support for labour in the coal belt.

Earlier in the day, the MP reviewed the ongoing construction of the Kunavaram Bridge in Peddapalli. He directed officials to speed up the work so that inconvenience to the public could be reduced. The review came alongside his public remarks on bias against Telangana and his demands on pending regional issues.
