Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu hoisted the national flag at the Khammam Police Parade Ground during the 80th Independence Day celebrations. He said the government aimed to build Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
In his Independence Day speech, Bhatti said democratic governance had to ensure equal rights, freedom and justice for every citizen. He said the government was pursuing the 2047 economic target while drawing inspiration from the sacrifices of national leaders.
The Bhatti Vikramarka address also detailed welfare and development programmes across Khammam district. He covered agriculture, education, healthcare, irrigation, infrastructure, women’s empowerment, housing, electricity and tourism.

Bhatti said the government had released Rs 427.97 crore under Rythu Bharosa to 3,41,913 farmers in Khammam district. Additionally, it had released Rs 912.10 crore towards farm loan waivers for 1,31,760 farmers.
The government had also taken steps to irrigate 1,38,790 acres of new ayacut through the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project. Bhatti highlighted education initiatives aimed at improving nutrition and learning facilities.
He said the government had launched mechanised kitchens and a free breakfast programme to provide nutritious food to 27 lakh students. Meanwhile, Young India Integrated Schools were under development in Khammam, Palair, Madhira, Wyra and Sathupalli constituencies.
Bhatti Vikramarka address highlights healthcare, infrastructure
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government had completed a 50-bed critical care building at Khammam Government General Hospital. The facility cost Rs 23.75 crore and brought modern medical services into use, he said.
Bhatti also highlighted measures to protect Khammam city from Munneru floods. The government was constructing a protection wall at a cost of Rs 525.36 crore. Moreover, development works on the Kodad-Khammam National Highway had reached completion at a cost of Rs 1,583 crore.
The Bhatti Vikramarka address also highlighted women’s access to free public transport. He said women had made more than 6.14 crore free bus journeys in Khammam district under the Mahalakshmi scheme.
Housing, power and tourism programmes highlighted
Bhatti also cited the Indiramma housing programme as part of the government’s welfare agenda. Furthermore, he referred to Gruha Jyothi, solar power initiatives and tourism development measures in the district.
The Deputy Chief Minister said these programmes sought to improve public welfare while supporting Khammam’s overall development. He reiterated that the government wanted every citizen to enjoy equal rights, liberty and justice under democratic governance. Bhatti said the State would continue development and welfare programmes while working towards the $3 trillion economy target for 2047.
