Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday asserted that the Telangana government will keep middlemen out of governance and ensure every public rupee benefits citizens directly.
He made this declaration after performing Bhoomi puja for ₹400 crore worth of development works in the Wyra constituency.
Bhatti emphasised that the government aims to make Telangana globally competitive by 2047. As part of this vision, it plans to establish a Young India Integrated School in every constituency.
In Wyra, construction has already begun on a ₹200 crore school spanning 20 acres. “Teachers will receive on-campus accommodation. Alongside academic programs, we will also promote sports,” he stated. “No other state has initiated such a model. This highlights Telangana’s commitment.”
To support this project, the government has already deposited ₹30 crore in the Collector’s account. Moreover, funds will be released every 15 days to ensure smooth progress.
Turning to the education sector, Bhatti criticised the former BRS government for mismanaging residential schools. He said students had suffered from inadequate diets and low cosmetic allowances. “After assessing the actual costs, the Congress government raised diet charges by 40% per student and increased cosmetic allowances by 200%,” he explained. Importantly, each school now displays its menu to maintain transparency.
To further address student welfare, the Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs, and officials will regularly dine with students. This approach aims to gather direct feedback. “Students from Wyra’s Integrated School will grow into leaders who guide the state, the country, and the world,” he noted.
Additionally, Bhatti announced a major welfare initiative for women. The government will distribute high-quality sarees to one crore women across the state. Beginning Saturday, officials started household visits, applying kumkum on recipients’ foreheads before handing over the sarees.
