Hyderabad: Attapur Police arrested two alleged members of a Attapur Police motorcycle theft gang and recovered five stolen two-wheelers, including a Royal Enfield Himalayan stolen from Shivarampally on June 25. Police said two other suspects remained absconding.
The arrested accused were identified as Mohammad Shahnawaz alias Shanu, 18, and Mohd Moiz Mohiuddin, 18, both residents of Hyderabad. Police identified the absconding suspects as Noor and Farhan.
According to investigators, the group targeted unattended motorcycles during late-night hours. They allegedly stole the vehicles for personal use and illegal disposal.
Attapur Police motorcycle theft case solved
Police said the accused allegedly stole a Royal Enfield Himalayan parked near Pillar No. 295 at Shivarampally. They reportedly reached the location on a previously stolen Honda Activa and towed away the motorcycle.
During the investigation, officers linked the accused to several vehicle theft cases. Based on their alleged confession, police recovered the stolen Royal Enfield and four other stolen two-wheelers connected with cases registered at Begum Bazar and Mailardevpally police stations.
Police said both arrested men were repeat offenders with previous involvement in property-related offences. Meanwhile, teams continued efforts to trace and arrest the two absconding suspects.
The operation was carried out by the Attapur Police under the supervision of senior officers of the Rajendranagar Zone. Senior police officials commended the investigating team for solving the case and recovering the stolen vehicles.
