Hyderabad: Police arrested two persons for illegal liquor sale and seized IMFL bottles during a patrol in Begum Bazar.
Goshamahal Police took Arjun Singh (29) and Thakur Gopal Singh (39) into custody for possessing and selling liquor without a valid licence. Both are residents of Begum Bazar.
The incident occurred during early morning patrolling near Labour Adda on April 16. Police personnel intercepted the duo based on suspicion and conducted a check.
Illegal liquor sale case leads to seizure of IMFL bottles
During verification, officers found 17 bottles of Good Day Prestige Whiskey (180 ml each), totalling about 3.06 litres. The accused admitted that they bought liquor at lower prices and sold it at higher rates without authorisation.
Police said both accused have prior involvement in multiple cases, including offences under the NDPS Act and the Excise Act. Subsequently, authorities arrested them and sent them to judicial remand.
Officials warned citizens against purchasing liquor from unauthorised sources. They urged the public to report such illegal activities to the nearest police station.
