Hyderabad: Telangana EAGLE Force Inspector P. Srinivasa Rao called for collective action against drug abuse, saying Nasha Mukt Bharat can succeed only through the combined efforts of law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, communities and citizens.
He addressed an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College in Baghlingampally on Wednesday. The Central Bureau of Communication organised the programme to strengthen public awareness against narcotics.
Srinivasa Rao said public participation remains the strongest weapon against drug trafficking. He added that Telangana Police had intensified enforcement through sustained operations supported by information received on the toll-free helpline 1908.
The officer said public inputs had helped investigators identify, probe and dismantle drug networks across Telangana. He warned that traffickers deliberately target students and educational institutions to expand illegal drug distribution.
Srinivasa Rao urged schools and colleges to strengthen awareness programmes among young people. He said the campaign rests on three pillars: strict enforcement against traffickers, public awareness and rehabilitation of people affected by addiction.
