Hyderabad: Irrigation, Food and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday invited global investors, entrepreneurs and technology leaders to pursue Telangana global investment opportunities across multiple sectors.
He said the State was positioning itself as a competitive destination for innovation-led, inclusive and sustainable growth. Uttam delivered the keynote address at the Global Business Excellence & Leadership Conclave 2026 at ITC Kohenur in Hyderabad.
He said Telangana offered skilled talent, strong infrastructure and entrepreneurial capacity. The government, he added, was committed to facilitating investments with speed and transparency.
“Come to Telangana. Invest in Telangana. Innovate in Telangana,” Uttam told business leaders.
Telangana global investment tied to 2047 targets
Uttam said the State had estimated its GSDP at around Rs. 17.82 lakh crore in 2025-26. He said nominal growth stood at 10.7 per cent, compared with the national growth rate of 8 per cent.
Under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s Telangana Rising 2047 Vision, the State had set two major economic targets. It aimed to become a $1-trillion economy by 2034 and a $3-trillion economy by 2047, he said. Uttam said the strategy rested on three interconnected economic regions.
CURE would focus on the core urban economy driven by technology and high-value industries. PURE would concentrate on peri-urban manufacturing, logistics and infrastructure. RARE would promote agriculture, food processing and rural enterprise.
“Development must not remain confined to Hyderabad. It must reach every district, every town, every village and every family in Telangana,” he said.
Technology and manufacturing opportunities highlighted
Uttam said Hyderabad had emerged as a global centre for information technology and artificial intelligence. He also highlighted the city’s strengths in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, life sciences and Global Capability Centres.
According to him, these sectors created new opportunities for Telangana global investment. He also identified semiconductors, data centres and cybersecurity as major areas for future investment.
Aerospace, defence, electric mobility, clean energy and advanced manufacturing offered further opportunities, he said. The Minister asked global businesses to examine Telangana’s wider technology and industrial ecosystem.
He said the government wanted investors to create jobs, transfer knowledge and strengthen sustainable industries. Referring to his portfolios, Uttam said the convergence of water, agriculture, food security and industry created another major opportunity.
He invited companies to bring technologies that could improve water management. These included satellite imagery, artificial intelligence, drones, sensors and predictive analytics. Uttam said such technologies could improve efficiency in irrigation and water use.
He also called for greater investment in food processing and agricultural infrastructure. Cold chains, warehouses, logistics, packaging and exports offered significant potential, he said.
The Minister argued that Telangana should process more agricultural produce within the State. He said companies could then brand and market those products from Telangana.
According to Uttam, such an approach could improve returns for farmers and create rural employment.
Investment push extends beyond Hyderabad
Uttam urged industries to look beyond Hyderabad while considering new projects. He identified Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nizamabad, Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar as emerging investment centres.
The Minister said economic growth should reach regions outside the capital. He linked this approach with the broader CURE, PURE and RARE development model. According to him, Telangana global investment should support balanced growth across urban, peri-urban and rural areas.
He said new industries could create employment while strengthening local supply chains and infrastructure. Uttam praised Dr. J.A. Chowdary and the International Startup Foundation for encouraging startups and rural innovators.
He said business excellence should not depend only on revenue or company valuations. Instead, he argued that businesses should also measure success through livelihoods created and problems solved.
The Minister said Telangana wanted investments that generated employment and transferred knowledge. He also called for projects that strengthened sustainable industries and improved people’s lives.
Uttam assured business leaders that the government would act as a transparent, professional and responsive long-term partner. He said Telangana wanted to become a place where solutions required by the world were “imagined, developed and delivered.”
The Minister reiterated his invitation for businesses to invest, innovate and create jobs across the State. He said Telangana global investment would play a central role in achieving the State’s economic goals for 2034 and 2047.
