Telangana to support Ghana pharma hub and industrial development

Hyderabad: Telangana has offered to support the establishment of a Ghana pharma hub and assist the Republic of Ghana in accelerating its industrial development, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said on Wednesday.

The minister made the announcement during a meeting with a high-level delegation from Ghana led by Presidential Advisor Augustus Obuadum Tano at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat.

During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Telangana and Ghana.

The discussions focused on industrial development, economic transformation and collaboration in key sectors.

Ghana pharma hub discussed during bilateral meeting

Augustus Obuadum Tano briefed the minister on Ghana’s ambitious 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme.

He also outlined plans to establish a Ghana pharma hub and sought Telangana’s cooperation in supporting the country’s industrial and economic transformation.

Responding to the proposal, Sridhar Babu said Telangana had achieved remarkable industrial growth within a short period.

He noted that the state had emerged as an international hub for pharmaceuticals, life sciences, electronics, aerospace, food processing, defence and advanced manufacturing.

The minister also explained the policies adopted by Telangana to promote industrial investment and ease of doing business.

Ghana pharma hub to benefit from Telangana expertise

Sridhar Babu said Telangana was prepared to share its global expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing and research.

He also offered support in vaccine production, life sciences innovation and global supply chain management.

According to the minister, Telangana’s experience in building a strong pharmaceutical ecosystem could help accelerate the development of the Ghana pharma hub.

He assured the visiting delegation that Telangana would provide all possible assistance to support Ghana’s industrial ambitions.

The minister further stated that Telangana was ready to emerge as a trusted partner in Ghana’s economic and industrial transformation journey.

The meeting underscored growing international interest in Telangana’s industrial model and highlighted opportunities for deeper cooperation between the two regions.
