Hyderabad: Telangana Ghana cooperation discussions were held after Kwasi Obiri-Danso met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his residence in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Kwasi Obiri-Danso, the High Commissioner of Ghana, paid a courtesy call during his first visit to Hyderabad since assuming office. During the meeting, Telangana Ghana cooperation remained the central focus, officials said.
The envoy expressed interest in strengthening ties between Ghana and Telangana. He proposed expanding cooperation across education, science and technology, healthcare, and commerce. Moreover, he emphasized sustained engagement between institutions in both regions.
The Chief Minister responded positively to the proposals. He assured support for initiatives that could enhance bilateral collaboration. As a result, both sides indicated willingness to explore structured partnerships in key sectors.
Telangana Ghana cooperation focus areas expand
The discussions highlighted multiple sectors for Telangana Ghana cooperation. Education and technology emerged as priority areas, given their role in economic growth. In addition, healthcare collaboration was identified as a potential area for knowledge exchange and capacity building.
Officials noted that commerce could also benefit from closer engagement. Therefore, both sides showed interest in facilitating business linkages and institutional partnerships. The meeting, however, remained a preliminary interaction without formal agreements.
Kwasi Obiri-Danso’s visit marked his first official interaction in Hyderabad after taking charge. Consequently, the meeting set the tone for future diplomatic engagement between Telangana and Ghana. Officials indicated that further discussions may follow to operationalise the proposals.
