Telangana plans GCC policy beyond Hyderabad growth zones

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare a GCC policy to encourage companies to establish operations beyond Hyderabad’s Core Urban Regional Economy (CURE) zone.

The Chief Minister asked officials to promote Global Capability Centres along the Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Warangal highways located between CURE and beyond CURE areas.

Revanth Reddy issued the directions during a review meeting on Information Technology and Industries departments with Minister D. Sridhar Babu and senior officials on Wednesday.

GCC policy targets Tier-2 and Tier-3 growth

The state government aims to decentralise job creation and position Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as future growth engines.

The Chief Minister suggested identifying clusters beyond the CURE region to support GCC and data centre expansion in underserved locations.

He also encouraged investments in technology and digital infrastructure along the Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Warangal highways.

In addition, officials explored plans to establish data centres in underserved areas within Hyderabad and nearby regions.

GCC policy linked to Bharat Future City development

Revanth Reddy directed officials to follow net-zero principles and maintain global standards in Bharat Future City engineering works.

He also asked departments to prioritise trunk infrastructure across the proposed zones in Bharat Future City.

The Chief Minister said the state would begin consultations with the Union government to establish one of the five regional medical hubs announced in the Union Budget.

The proposed hub will come up in the Health City project under Bharat Future City. Moreover, Revanth Reddy said he would raise the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi if required.

Officials also accelerated plans related to the proposed AI City project after reviewing global best practices in AI infrastructure development.

The Chief Minister further directed departments to speed up Bharat Future City works to facilitate foundation stone ceremonies in the industrial corridor.

GCC policy supported through Invest Telangana

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to ensure companies receiving land allotments in Bharat Future City signed MoUs for workforce skilling and certification programmes.

The meeting also reviewed plans for “Invest Telangana”, a dedicated investment promotion agency for the state.

The Chief Minister advised officials to adopt best practices from other states and create a governance structure that offers end-to-end investor support.

He suggested including senior officials from Finance and Energy departments as special invitees to speed up approvals and improve operations.

Officials said the government would form a society for Invest Telangana with a dynamic structure focused on aggressive investment promotion.

The Chief Minister also proposed appointing escort officers to assist investors from their arrival in Hyderabad until operations begin.

Revanth Reddy further directed officials to shift all government offices to T-Fiber internet connections within three months.

Officials informed the meeting that government departments secured orders worth ₹54 crore during the last six months after shifting from private internet operators to T-Fiber services.
