Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday directed officials to accelerate eco-tourism development by transforming forest lands in the CURE region into tourism destinations in coordination with the Tourism Department.
During a review meeting with Tourism Department officials at the Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute in Jubilee Hills, the Chief Minister also instructed them to develop forest areas in Future City as world-class ecological destinations with international standards.
Eco-tourism development to expand across Hyderabad
Revanth Reddy directed officials to establish eco parks across Hyderabad on the lines of Gurranguda Eco Park. Additionally, he asked them to create urban forest-style facilities and appoint a dedicated special officer to speed up implementation of the projects.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to develop the heritage bridges at Puranapul into tourist attractions. Moreover, he asked them to provide adequate visitor amenities to improve the tourist experience.
Furthermore, Revanth Reddy directed officials to strengthen tourism infrastructure in Hyderabad. He also called for the further development of the historic Taramati Baradari near Golconda as a major tourist attraction.
The Chief Minister said officials should explore the possibility of diverting traffic to improve tourist access. He also directed departments to begin preparations for the Global Investment Summit scheduled for December and form coordination committees for the event.
Eco-tourism development to boost tourism infrastructure
Revanth Reddy ordered the comprehensive development of Durgam Cheruvu as a full-fledged tourism destination. He also instructed officials to modernise the Manjeera and Dilkusha guest houses to improve tourism infrastructure.
Meanwhile, under the Tourism Hub Development Scheme, the Chief Minister directed officials to develop Vikarabad as a major tourism destination.
Additionally, he called for the development of the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple in Vikarabad. He suggested forming a temple committee on the lines of the Yadadri Temple Board to oversee its development and management.
Chief Minister’s Adviser Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, CMO Chief Secretary Seshadri, Principal Secretary Sridhar, Tourism Secretary Vani Prasad and Tourism Corporation Managing Director Gautami attended the meeting.
