Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy on Tuesday ordered the transfer of five Deputy Superintendents of Police as the state awaited the release of the municipal election schedule.
The DGP said the Police Establishment Board recommended the reshuffle. He directed officials to enforce the transfers with immediate effect. He also instructed the officers to get relieved at once and report to their new postings without delay.
As part of the orders, S. Sarangapani, who served as DSP at TGP Stands and also held charge as Illandu SDPO in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, moved to Khammam district as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Wyra. The department cancelled his Illandu SDPO charge following the transfer.
Padmanabhula Srinivas, who worked as DSP under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, moved out of the Wyra ACP post. The department decided to continue him in the vacant Additional Superintendent of Police post under GHMC.
DSP transfers in Telangana ahead of municipal polls
The department posted U. Venkanna Babu, who served as DSP in the Intelligence Wing, as Illandu SDPO. Meanwhile, B. Prakash shifted from his role as ACP (Special Branch) in Cyberabad and took charge as ACP, Nizamabad (Traffic).
L. R. Venkat Reddy, who served as ACP, Nizamabad (Traffic), reported to the DGP’s office in Hyderabad as directed. The orders also asked all transferred officers to submit charge transfer certificates after joining their new assignments.
The government issued the transfers as the state administration prepared for the municipal elections. Officials said such reshuffles form part of routine administrative steps during the pre-election period.
