Hyderabad: Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir said farmer welfare remained a key priority of the Congress government during the swearing-in ceremony of the new Anthampalli PACS governing body in Kamareddy constituency.
Shabbir Ali attended the programme as the chief guest. He congratulated the new office-bearers and wished them success.
Chittedi Sudhakar Reddy took oath as the new Anthampalli PACS chairman. Other members of the governing body also took their oath and assumed charge.
Speaking at the event, Shabbir Ali said the government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was giving high priority to farmers. He said stronger farmers would contribute to a stronger rural economy.
He urged PACS bodies to provide crop loans, seeds, fertilisers and agricultural services on time. Moreover, he said cooperative societies should go beyond lending and support the overall development of farmers.
Farmer welfare and rural development remain key priorities
Shabbir Ali said the Congress government was implementing several programmes for farmers. These included Rythu Bharosa, crop loan waiver, free electricity, Rythu Bima and irrigation resource development.
At the same time, the government was working to improve market facilities and rural infrastructure. He said these efforts would accelerate development in villages.
Shabbir Ali specifically congratulated Sudhakar Reddy on becoming Anthampalli PACS chairman. He urged him to uphold the confidence farmers had placed in him.
Furthermore, he asked the new governing body to work collectively to strengthen the cooperative society financially. It should also serve every farmer equally, regardless of political affiliation.
He assured farmers from Anthampalli, Lakshmidevunipalli and surrounding villages that he would take their concerns to the government. He also promised to support efforts to resolve their problems.
Meanwhile, Shabbir Ali said development activities were progressing across Kamareddy constituency. The government was focusing on rural infrastructure, roads, drinking water, education, healthcare and agriculture.
He said public welfare and rural development were receiving equal attention. Consequently, the government was working to ensure that development benefits reached every village.
Library chairman Maddi Chandrakant Reddy, TPCC general secretary Baddam Indrakaran Reddy and former DCC president Kailas Srinivas attended the programme.
Several Congress leaders and public representatives also participated. They included Anthampalli sarpanch Manjula Sanjeev Reddy, Bikkanoor Market Committee chairman Raju and other cooperative society chairmen.
District and block-level Congress leaders, councillors, party workers, women, farmers and villagers also attended the event.
Later, organisers conducted a smart ration card distribution programme. Eligible beneficiaries received their cards during the programme.
The new Anthampalli PACS governing body subsequently assumed charge.
