Khelo India Samvaad held in Ranga Reddy to engage youth in sports

Hyderabad: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organised Khelo India Samvaad at SIBM in Ranga Reddy district on National Sports Day 2026.

The programme, titled “Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath”, drew enthusiastic participation from youth. Mahbubnagar MP D.K. Aruna, Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu and badminton player Muskan Khan also attended.

As part of MY Bharat’s nationwide National Sports Day initiative, the programme followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a fit, disciplined and sporting nation.

First, participants joined the Prime Minister’s virtual address. Subsequently, they took part in the Khelo India Samvaad and Yuva Samvaad sessions.

The discussions focused on India’s changing sports ecosystem, sports infrastructure and talent development. They also covered preparations for future international sporting events and the role of youth in achieving Viksit Bharat @2047.

Khelo India Samvaad connects youth with sporting personalities

P.V. Sindhu interacted with participants and shared experiences from her sporting career. She encouraged young people to embrace sports, fitness, discipline and perseverance.

She also stressed the importance of a healthy lifestyle. As a result, the interaction gave participants an opportunity to learn from one of India’s accomplished sportspersons.

Similarly, badminton player Muskan Khan interacted with the youth. She encouraged aspiring athletes to pursue their sporting ambitions with dedication and determination.

D.K. Aruna addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of sports in nation-building. She also stressed the need for youth empowerment.

At the same time, she encouraged young people to use the growing opportunities available in sports. She urged them to contribute to the vision of a Fit India and Viksit Bharat.

MY Bharat Deputy Director Snehal Dnyaneshwar Basutkar encouraged youth to register on the MY Bharat portal. She highlighted volunteering, experiential learning, leadership and nation-building opportunities available through the platform.

She also called for maximum participation in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 Quiz. Through the initiative, young people can share their ideas and become active participants in the Viksit Bharat @2047 journey.

Youth take Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat pledge

The programme also featured the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” pledge. All participants pledged to promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

They also pledged to support Nasha Mukt campuses, communities and society. In addition, the initiative connected sports and fitness with efforts to prevent substance abuse.

During the Yuva Samvaad, participants shared their ideas and aspirations. The discussions consequently reinforced themes of sportsmanship, youth leadership, Nasha Mukt Bharat and Viksit Bharat @2047.

Meanwhile, the SIBM and MY Bharat teams coordinated the programme. D. Srisailam, D. Greeshma and P. Kruthi contributed to its organisation and implementation.

The programme ended with enthusiastic participation from youth in the discussions and activities.
