Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC Dasoju Sravan on Saturday sharply criticised Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that his language and behaviour were eroding democratic values in the state.
Dasoju Sravan said the Chief Minister used uncivilised and threatening language during a meeting with newly elected Sarpanches and ward members at Kodangal. He said such remarks would remain a dark chapter in Telangana’s democratic history.
He stated that a Chief Minister is expected to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system. Instead, he said, threats replaced guidance while addressing elected village representatives. According to him, this reflected a clear decline in governance standards.
Revanth Reddy language sparks concern over governance standards
Referring to the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, Dasoju Sravan said the Chief Minister should have explained Panchayat powers, village planning and coordination of funds and officials. Instead, he alleged that violent phrases were used, which he said were unbecoming of a constitutional post.
Dasoju Sravan questioned whether the government treated Sarpanches as public servants or as political tools. He also criticised remarks allegedly made about the overseas work experience of K. T. Rama Rao, saying such comments insulted the dignity of labour.
He further questioned the Chief Minister’s moral authority over land issues involving tribal farmers in Lagacharla. He also raised concerns about the use of public funds for personal entertainment. Dasoju Sravan criticised remarks made against K. Chandrashekar Rao at a public event, saying such language in front of children reflected political decay.
Listing governance failures over the past 24 months, Dasoju Sravan alleged harm to the real estate sector, liquor licence irregularities, misuse of public funds and environmental damage. He also cited unfulfilled guarantees, unpaid Rythu Bandhu assistance and pending loan waivers.
Contrasting the present government with the earlier BRS administration, Dasoju Sravan cited growth in income levels, GSDP and farm output during KCR’s tenure. He warned that public anger was rising and said voters would respond through the ballot.
