Hyderabad: Telangana Police launched the TG-VEER portal on Sunday to help families of police martyrs register and track their grievances.
DGP C. V. Anand launched the dedicated portal during his visit to Warangal. The TG-VEER portal offers a single platform for families to submit complaints related to financial assistance, compassionate appointments and plot allotment.
Families can also use the portal to seek other benefits to which they are entitled. The system includes each martyr’s service profile, family details and benefits received.
It also provides a centralised repository of relevant Government Orders. Senior police officers can monitor grievances at both unit and State levels.
On the second day of his district visit, Anand met the families of 28 police martyrs from the Warangal Commissionerate. The personnel lost their lives in the line of duty while fighting Naxalism.
The DGP issued QR-code-enabled family cards to the martyrs’ families. A scan of the QR code takes the family member directly to the TG-VEER portal.
Anand directed SIB officials who developed the portal to inform all police units immediately. He asked them to collect grievances from all martyrs’ families and submit a consolidated report.
TG-VEER portal to track long-pending family grievances
Several families raised long-pending issues during their interaction with the DGP. Their concerns included ex-gratia payments, financial assistance, plot allotment and registration or title matters.
The families also raised pension and other welfare-related issues. Anand recorded the grievances and assured them that he would take up the matters with the government.
He also directed the Warangal Police Commissioner to personally monitor the issues. The Commissioner was asked to extend all possible support to the affected families.
Anand recalled his association with Warangal, where he began his career during the peak of the Naxal movement. He said his experience helped him understand the pain of families who lost loved ones in the line of duty.
The DGP also recalled the difficult period when police personnel faced ambushes and exchanges of fire. He said the region’s present peace had come through the sacrifices of officers and personnel who placed duty above their lives.
Before attending the crime review meeting, Anand inspected the under-construction CP office building. The building was nearing completion, and Police Commissioner Swetha briefed him on the ongoing work.
Anand said the new facility should make visits easier for citizens and improve internal efficiency. He also stressed the need to integrate technology and strengthen surveillance.
The DGP directed officials to remove unused and dilapidated structures from the premises. He also called for improvements to the internal approach roads leading to the new office.
