Hyderabad: Minister for Housing, Revenue and Information & Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that the Telangana government would extend sub-registrar office hours in 15 offices across the state from May 12.
The selected offices will function from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm to handle the growing rush for registrations.
The offices include Champapet, Saroornagar, Vanasthalipuram, Gandipet, Maheshwaram, Farooqnagar, Shadnagar, Ranga Reddy Rural, LB Nagar, Serilingampally, Sangareddy, Ghatkesar, Nalgonda R.O., Patancheru and Quthbullapur.
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government introduced the extended sub-registrar office hours after a sharp increase in registrations following the State Cabinet’s decision to revise land values and rationalise prices in certain regions.
He instructed officials to ensure that the public did not face inconvenience during the registration process.
Sub-registrar office hours extended after registration surge
The Minister directed officials to increase the number of available appointment slots for registrations.
Additionally, he asked authorities to identify other sub-registrar offices witnessing high registration demand and extend working hours wherever necessary.
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy also instructed officials to coordinate with Tahsildar offices where agricultural land registrations take place.
According to the Minister, the government aimed to improve transparency, efficiency and public convenience in the registration process.
Sub-registrar office hours linked to public convenience
The Minister directed State Inspector General of Registrations Rajiv Gandhi Hanumantu to take suitable measures to streamline registration services.
He said the government was focusing on improving citizen services while managing the increased registration workload efficiently.
Further, officials were instructed to implement all arrangements smoothly from May 12 to avoid delays and overcrowding at registration offices.
