Ponguleti hits back at Harish Rao over Future City remarks

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy launched a sharp attack on former minister T Harish Rao over his Future City remarks.

Ponguleti questioned how Harish Rao could speak about stopping the Future City project from the United States. He posted his response on social media platform X after the Future City remarks triggered political reactions.

The minister said Harish Rao himself was uncertain about his political future in the BRS. He also questioned whether Harish Rao had entered into agreements with anyone in the United States over Future City lands.

Ponguleti asked why the previous BRS government failed to complete even a single Metro station during its ten-year rule under K Chandrashekar Rao.

He said the Congress government was now building an entirely new city for the future of Telangana.

Future City remarks spark political war in Telangana

Ponguleti alleged that the KCR family focused on constructing farmhouses while the Congress government was building Future City for the state’s development.

He accused BRS leaders of obstructing the Musi rejuvenation project and industries planned at Lagcherla. He said opposition leaders also tried to block efforts aimed at creating jobs for youth.

The minister expressed confidence that Congress would retain power in the next elections. He said the government would build a Future City that would make the country proud.

Ponguleti also claimed that BRS leaders themselves were trying to end Harish Rao’s political future.

“BRS has no future, but Future City has no competition,” the minister said.
