Mamata Banerjee, leaders seek probe into Ajit Pawar plane crash

Hyderabad: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday demanded a proper probe into the plane crash that killed Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar near Baramati.

Reacting to the incident, Mamata Banerjee said she felt deeply shocked by Pawar’s sudden death. In a post on X, she described the crash as a tragic loss. According to her, the incident claimed the lives of Pawar and his co-passengers.

Extending condolences, she conveyed sympathy to the Pawar family, including senior NCP leader Sharad Pawar, as well as to Pawar’s friends and followers. She also said the tragedy required a thorough investigation.

Leaders across parties demand probe into Ajit Pawar crash

Meanwhile, leaders across the political spectrum expressed grief and demanded accountability. Several leaders sought a transparent probe into the Baramati plane crash. The accident killed Ajit Pawar along with five others, including pilots and security personnel.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said the news deeply saddened him. He noted that Pawar’s years of public service left a lasting mark on Maharashtra politics. He also called for a proper investigation.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav urged a high-level probe into the crash. In a post on X, he said he felt extremely heartbroken. He prayed for strength for Pawar’s family and supporters.

Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi leader Prakash Ambedkar also expressed shock over Pawar’s death. Stressing accountability, he called for a fair inquiry. He extended condolences to Pawar’s family, friends and followers.
