Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Wednesday urged voters to support Congress candidates in the February 11 municipal elections. He said the party, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is committed to strengthening urban development and welfare services.
Following the release of the municipal poll notification, Ponnam stated that the Congress government is advancing a clear plan to improve civic amenities and infrastructure in Telangana towns. He noted that several projects are already in progress across urban areas.
Congress municipal elections 2026 focus on welfare and infrastructure
Ponnam asked citizens to bless the Congress party in the upcoming elections. He pointed to key welfare schemes such as new ration cards, Indiramma housing, subsidised rice, and 200 units of free electricity. Women, he added, now benefit from free bus travel, interest-free loans, and free Indiramma sarees.
He said these schemes are improving the quality of life for urban residents. For continued growth in all towns, he said, the Congress party needs a strong public mandate.
The minister called on voters to elect Congress candidates and ensure that the current momentum in development and welfare continues without disruption.
