Hyderabad: General Observer Mayank Mittal, IAS, directed election officials in Ranga Reddy district to thoroughly scrutinize and accurately accept nomination papers for the ongoing municipal elections.
The nomination process for the second ordinary municipal elections began on January 28 and will continue until January 30. On Wednesday, Mittal visited the Ibrahimpatnam Municipality’s nomination reception center along with District Election Officer and Collector C. Narayana Reddy and Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Srinivas.
Error-free nominations and strict adherence to procedure
Mittal instructed officials to record the names of individuals collecting nomination forms in a dedicated register. He also asked them to submit timely reports to the district headquarters. To support candidates, authorities have established help desks at every nomination center. He told the staff to provide complete assistance to anyone submitting their papers.
Collector Narayana Reddy urged all officials to follow Election Commission guidelines without deviation. He stressed the importance of clearly explaining the required documents to each candidate. In case of doubts, staff must consult senior officers instead of making personal decisions.
He also stated that the administration has taken all necessary steps to ensure a peaceful election process. The Model Code of Conduct will be strictly implemented throughout.
Additionally, officials were told to seek immediate clarification from superiors if they face uncertainties during the nomination or election process.
General Observer Mittal was joined by Ibrahimpatnam RDO Anant Reddy and other local officers during the inspection.
