Hyderabad: The One Ward Every Day programme continued in Bharathi Nagar Ward under Ameenpur Circle, where Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner, accompanied by the Zonal Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Heads of Departments, reviewed civic issues and ongoing development works.
The officials held an interactive meeting with representatives of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to discuss local infrastructure needs and public services.
Residents highlighted the need for new cement concrete (CC) and bituminous (BT) roads, repairs to underground drainage (UGD) lines and pruning of trees in residential colonies. They also sought improvements in garbage collection, sanitation services, park maintenance, public toilets and street lighting.
One Ward Every Day focuses on civic infrastructure
During the One Ward Every Day review, residents requested the installation of open gyms and children’s play equipment in parks. They also sought the construction of compound walls and repairs to storm water drains.
Traffic management during school and office hours and the resolution of drainage outlet issues also featured prominently in the discussions. The Commissioner directed the concerned departments to examine each issue and initiate the required works. Officials began preparing estimates for eligible engineering projects.
Other civic issues were forwarded to the respective departments for further action. The directions aimed to ensure timely implementation of development works and improve civic amenities in the ward. The programme formed part of CMC’s initiative to engage directly with residents, identify local concerns and monitor the delivery of municipal services across its jurisdiction.
