Hyderabad: Minister for Labour, Employment, Training & Factories and Mines, Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy, launched Ameenpur civic works worth ₹16.53 crore in Sangareddy district on Wednesday. He said the State government was giving top priority to strengthening civic infrastructure in the rapidly growing municipality.
The Minister laid the foundation stone for the projects. He said the government would execute the works in phases. The projects include CC roads, underground drainage, storm water drains, development of the crematorium and construction of central medians.
Ameenpur civic works to improve urban infrastructure
Meanwhile, Vivek Venkatswamy said the Ameenpur civic works would improve the quality of life for residents. He added that the government had prepared a comprehensive development plan to transform Ameenpur into a model urban local body in the State.
Further, the Minister assured that the government would sanction additional funds if officials submitted proposals for priority works based on public needs. He said the government would ensure their timely execution.
Besides infrastructure projects, Vivek Venkatswamy said the government was implementing welfare schemes with equal emphasis in urban areas. Accordingly, eligible families would receive new ration cards, free electricity up to 200 units, fine rice and Indiramma LIG houses.
Meanwhile, the Minister reviewed preparedness for the possible impact of El Niño. He directed officials to take proactive measures to prevent any shortage of drinking water. He also asked them to prepare a comprehensive action plan for the coming year. If necessary, the government would release additional funds to meet future requirements.
He reiterated that the government would continue funding Ameenpur civic works based on public needs and proposals submitted by officials.
