Hyderabad: A low-pressure formation over the southwest Bay of Bengal during the second week of May may bring widespread rainfall to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and provide relief from severe summer heat.
Weather experts said a surface circulation is likely to develop over the southwest Bay of Bengal in the coming days. ISRO weather experts indicated that the system may strengthen into a low-pressure area around May 11 and 12.
If the weather system intensifies, many districts in both Telugu states may receive widespread rain. Consequently, temperatures may decline across several regions currently facing intense heat conditions.
Meanwhile, the trough effect has already brought cooler weather to parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Officials said isolated places may receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning during the next 48 hours.

Weather experts stated that heavy rainfall may occur during the second week of May if the system gains additional strength.
They also said the expected rainfall could offer major relief from the continuing summer heat across both states.
The Meteorological Department is closely monitoring developments over the Bay of Bengal and issuing updated weather forecasts regularly.
