Hyderabad: Officials issued a Telangana rains alert after another low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal. The system may bring rain to the state from today until August 28.
Authorities issued a yellow alert for 16 districts in Telangana for today. The warning covers Khammam, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mancherial, Asifabad, Adilabad, Medak and Kamareddy.
It also covers Rajanna Sircilla, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, Nirmal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Nizamabad, Jagtial and Karimnagar. Residents in these districts should remain cautious as rainfall is expected in several areas.
Andhra Pradesh will also receive rain today, according to the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA). Polavaram and Eluru districts may receive moderate rain with lightning in some areas.
Telangana rains alert covers several districts
Meanwhile, some areas of Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari and West Godavari may receive light to moderate rain. Other coastal districts could see scattered light rainfall.
The latest weather system over the Bay of Bengal has increased the possibility of rain across Telangana. Therefore, residents should follow official weather updates during the forecast period.
The rain forecast remains in place from today through August 28. Weather conditions may differ across districts during this period.
