KTR slams Revanth Reddy over Musi project allegations

Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy resorted to threats when questioned over corruption, as he raised KTR Musi project allegations at a party meeting in Hyderabad.

He addressed a BRS student wing meeting held at Telangana Bhavan as the chief guest. During his speech, he accused the Chief Minister of intimidating the opposition when faced with questions on alleged irregularities.

KTR said the Chief Minister had developed a habit of issuing threats. However, he asserted that the BRS would not yield to such pressure under any circumstances.

KTR Musi project allegations target corruption claims

Speaking on the KTR Musi project allegations, he criticised the government’s financial priorities. He said the Chief Minister claimed there were no funds to implement election promises.

At the same time, he alleged that the government planned to spend Rs 1.5 lakh crore under the Musi project. He argued that inflated estimates were being created to facilitate corruption.

KTR also referred to remarks by Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy. He alleged that questions on mining irregularities triggered a threatening response from the government.

KTR Musi project allegations raise land and housing concerns

The KTR Musi project allegations also included concerns over land acquisition and housing. He claimed that authorities planned to demolish lakhs of houses in the name of the Musi project.

He alleged that nearly 3,000 acres would be acquired and handed over to corporate companies. According to him, this move would displace poor families living along the river.

He criticised the government for calling existing houses illegal while planning commercial developments in the same area. He described this as a double standard.

Continuing the KTR Musi project allegations, KTR said the Chief Minister’s statements reflected arrogance. Rao referred to remarks suggesting aggressive responses to criticism.

He called on youth to protect Hyderabad and oppose actions that could harm the poor. He urged them to resist any move that would damage livelihoods in the name of river rejuvenation.

Former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and BRSV state president Gellu Srinivas attended the meeting along with other leaders.
