Arrive Alive eye camp screens drivers in Malkajgiri

Hyderabad: Arrive Alive eye camp was organised in Malkajgiri on Monday, with police and the Rachakonda Security Council screening 76 heavy motor vehicle drivers as part of road safety efforts.

The camp was held at HPCL, Cherlapalli, under the third phase of the Arrive Alive programme. Officials said the initiative aimed to improve driver health and reduce road accidents through early detection of vision-related issues.

During the screenings, doctors identified eight cases of cataract and 31 drivers who required corrective glasses. In addition, two cases of retinal problems, five cases of colour blindness and one case of one-eyed condition were detected.

The programme was coordinated by Savithri from the Rachakonda Security Council. Senior officials, including the DCP Road Safety, plant in-charge Suresh, safety manager Praveen and the Cherlapalli SHO, attended the camp.

Arrive Alive eye camp focuses on early detection and safety

Officials said the Arrive Alive eye camp was part of a broader effort to promote preventive healthcare among drivers and industrial workers. Early diagnosis of vision issues was critical in ensuring safer driving conditions, they added.

The initiative highlighted the role of health awareness in road safety. Authorities said similar programmes would continue to target high-risk groups and improve overall public welfare.

The Rachakonda Security Council reiterated its commitment to strengthening community outreach through such initiatives, focusing on both safety and healthcare access.
