KTR accuses Revanth Reddy government of neglecting Telangana farmers

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of neglecting Telangana farmers and failing to fulfil key promises made to the farming community. Addressing party workers in Maheswaram, he alleged that the Congress government had weakened welfare measures and created hardships for farmers.

KTR claimed the government had discontinued the Rythu Bandhu scheme and replaced it with what he described as “Rahul Bandhu.” He alleged that farmers were struggling to obtain urea despite the Congress party’s assurances on fertiliser availability.

Telangana farmers face difficulties, alleges KTR

KTR alleged that a digital application introduced to facilitate urea distribution had failed to serve farmers effectively. He also claimed that the names of Rangareddy and Malkajgiri districts were missing from the application’s listings.

The BRS leader recalled that Revanth Reddy had earlier criticised the previous government for not extending Rythu Bandhu assistance to a third crop. He further alleged that the Congress had failed to fulfil its promises to increase financial assistance to ₹15,000 and provide pensions to two members of each family.

KTR claimed that dissatisfaction with the Congress government was increasing across Telangana. He also asserted that public support continued to favour former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao.

Telangana farmers and financial claims

KTR further criticised the Chief Minister over his handling of the state’s finances. He alleged that Revanth Reddy had misrepresented the debt accumulated during the previous BRS government.

According to KTR, Telangana’s debt stood at ₹72,000 crore when the state was formed in 2014. He said the BRS government borrowed ₹2.80 lakh crore during the following decade.

The BRS leader also made personal allegations against the Chief Minister during his address. The Congress government has not responded to the allegations at the time of issuing the statement.
