Hyderabad: BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) expressed deep sorrow over the death of Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, former Narsampet MLA, senior BRS leader and Telangana statehood activist. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family on Friday.
KCR described Peddi Sudarshan Reddy as a close associate and fellow campaigner in the Telangana movement. He recalled working alongside him during the second phase of the statehood agitation, particularly in Warangal district.
The BRS chief said the party and doctors had made every effort to save Peddi Sudarshan Reddy’s life. However, those efforts did not succeed. He described the late leader’s political career as one marked by integrity, honesty and dedication to public service.
Peddi Sudarshan Reddy remembered for Telangana movement
KCR said Peddi Sudarshan Reddy played a key role in strengthening the BRS in Narsampet, a region known for its history of struggles. Moreover, he said the former MLA remained committed to the Pink Flag from the Telangana movement until his last breath. According to KCR, he left a lasting mark on both the statehood struggle and the development of the Narsampet Assembly constituency.
The BRS president called the leader’s death an irreparable loss to the party. He further said Peddi Reddy remained steadfast despite police pressure, non-bailable cases and imprisonment during the movement. As a result, his courage and commitment earned the respect of party workers and the public.
Finally, KCR assured the bereaved family, including Peddi Sudarshan Reddy’s wife and children, of the party’s support. He also urged BRS workers in Narsampet to remain strong during the difficult time. He prayed for the departed leader’s soul and extended condolences to his family, party workers and admirers.
