Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar warned parents and students against MBBS admission scams targeting NEET UG aspirants. He urged families to stay alert against agents promising medical seats at low costs.
Sajjanar said fraudsters were exploiting the demand and prestige attached to the medical profession. He cautioned parents against believing claims that students with low NEET scores could secure MBBS seats through management quota admissions at cheap rates.
He also warned against agents offering low-cost medical education in the Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, China, Armenia and Caribbean nations.

The Commissioner said several parents in Hyderabad had lost large amounts of money to such fraud networks in previous years. He added that many students also lost valuable academic years after trusting fake admission promises.
Sajjanar advised parents and students to verify whether foreign medical colleges had recognition from the National Medical Commission. He asked families to check official websites or directly contact the institutions before taking admission.
He warned parents against handing over cash to middlemen. Students and families should transfer fees only to official university or college bank accounts, he said.
The Commissioner urged people to contact Dial 100 or approach the nearest police station if anyone demanded money or made suspicious promises regarding MBBS admissions.
