Hyderabad Police crack advocate murder conspiracy, arrest key accused

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police arrested key accused in the advocate murder conspiracy behind the killing of advocate Khaja Moizuddin, who died after a Scorpio vehicle allegedly ran him over near his residence at Masab Tank on May 23.

Police said the investigation uncovered a contract killing plot allegedly worth ₹15 lakh. Investigators linked the conspiracy to a long-running dispute over Waqf properties and management issues between the victim and the family of prime accused Mujahid Alam Khan.

According to police, CCTV footage showed a green Mahindra Scorpio without number plates waiting near Moizuddin’s residence.

The footage allegedly captured the vehicle striking the advocate as he approached his car after leaving for a swimming session.

Moizuddin later succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

Advocate murder conspiracy linked to Waqf dispute

Police said Kishan alias Pappu, whom investigators traced to Panipat in Haryana, disclosed details of the alleged conspiracy during interrogation.

According to investigators, he provided information about reconnaissance activities, planning and execution of the attack.

Subsequently, police arrested prime accused Mujahid Alam Khan, his father Mahaboob Alam Khan and several associates on May 29.

Investigators alleged that the accused coordinated the plot following the dispute linked to Waqf property management issues.

Advocate murder conspiracy involved multiple accused

Police identified Abhijeeth alias Nani as the alleged driver of the Scorpio used in the crime.

Investigators said other accused handled surveillance, logistics and escape arrangements.

During the operation, police seized the Scorpio vehicle, ₹10.10 lakh in cash and several mobile phones.

Meanwhile, investigators continued efforts to trace the remaining absconding accused.

Police said teams are collecting additional technical and documentary evidence connected to the conspiracy.

Assistant Commissioner of Police P. Praveen Kumar of Abids Division led the investigation. Inspector CH Saidulu, Sub-Inspector M.A. Adil Riyaz Khan and Nampally Police personnel assisted the operation under the supervision of senior Hyderabad City Police officers.
