Hyderabad: Forest, Environment and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha directed officials to complete Haritha Nidhi projects within the prescribed deadlines and ensure quality standards during implementation.
The minister chaired the seventh state-level Haritha Nidhi committee meeting at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat in Hyderabad.
During the meeting, she reviewed the progress of previously sanctioned projects and approved several new proposals related to environmental protection and forest development.
The committee approved proposals linked to nursery development, urban parks, forest conservation, forest research, training programmes, awareness campaigns and eco-tourism development.
Haritha Nidhi projects approved for green development
Konda Surekha said Haritha Nidhi had become an important platform for environmental protection in Telangana.
She stated that the government was giving special priority to protecting forests and increasing greenery in urban areas.
The minister said every project should be implemented effectively to provide a better environment for future generations.
She instructed officials to complete both ongoing and newly approved Haritha Nidhi projects within the stipulated timelines.
Konda Surekha also stressed that officials must strictly follow quality standards during project execution.
Haritha Nidhi projects aimed at public benefit
The minister asked officials to design projects in a way that provided direct benefits to people and ensured transparent implementation.
She said the government remained committed to protecting forest wealth, conserving biodiversity and promoting eco-tourism.
Konda Surekha added that eco-tourism development would create employment opportunities for local youth.
She urged officials to work in coordination and successfully achieve the objectives of Haritha Nidhi.
