Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on Monday inaugurated the Ananthagiri Eco Urban Park in Vikarabad, positioning it as a key eco-tourism destination near Hyderabad.
The event was attended by Municipal Chairperson Gaddam Ananya, PCCF Suvarna, Forest Development Corporation MD Sunitha Bhagavat and CCF Priyanka Varghese, along with other officials.
Ananthagiri Eco Park aims to drive eco-tourism
Gaddam Prasad Kumar said the Ananthagiri Eco Park would emerge as a major eco-tourism hub due to its scenic landscape and proximity to Hyderabad. He added that the government would extend full support for its development.
Gaddam Prasad said such projects would create employment opportunities for local youth. He also called for the construction of more cottages to accommodate visitors.
Spread across about 3,600 acres, the forest region includes grasslands, rocky terrain, medicinal plants and dense greenery. Officials said the Ananthagiri Eco Park offered diverse natural features for visitors.
The park now features gazebos, a watch tower and the “Chatri Sunrise View Point,” which offers panoramic views of forests, lakes and nearby villages. These additions aim to enhance visitor experience.
The Speaker also visited the origin point of the Musi River and launched beautification works. He directed officials to develop the surrounding basin area further.
Officials announced upcoming adventure facilities such as zipline and zip cycling. They also opened four new cottages for visitors and planned to expand amenities in the future.
