Hyderabad: South Central Railway secured top honours at the Public Relations Awards 2026 during the Telangana Public Relations Conference, earning recognition for its media outreach and communication strategies.
The awards were presented at the conference organised by the Public Relations Society of India, Hyderabad Chapter, under the theme “Telangana Rising 2047” in Begumpet.
SCR PR awards recognise communication excellence
SCR’s Public Relations department won first prize in Media Relations and Crisis Communication. It also secured second prize in Social Media Communication. These honours highlighted SCR PR awards success in public outreach and real-time updates.
The jury commended SCR for strong media engagement and timely communication during disruptions such as floods and festival rush. It also noted the department’s active presence on digital platforms including X, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
SCR PR awards highlight crisis response efforts
Officials said the department issued regular press releases and bulletins on train rescheduling, diversions, cancellations and restoration works. It also provided updates on additional services to keep passengers and media informed.
The awards were presented by K Sreenivas Reddy, K Nageswar and Ch Priyanka.
SCR officials, including Chief Public Relations Officer A Sridhar, Senior PRO M Pradeep Kumar and PRO K Rajesh, received the awards at the event.
