Revanth Reddy questions Bandi Sanjay over son’s case

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday questioned the handling of the Bandi Sanjay case involving Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son, Bandi Bageerath.

Addressing the Way2News Conclave 2026 in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy said the issue raised ethical concerns and demanded that Bandi Sanjay respond publicly.

The Chief Minister alleged that Bandi Bageerath had been accused in a case involving the alleged sexual harassment of a minor.

Revanth Reddy said the Union Minister should directly confront the issue and cooperate with the investigation.

“Bandi Sanjay should step up and offer an explanation. Furthermore, he needs to take his son to the police station and surrender him,” he said.

The Chief Minister added that Bandi Bageerath must face the investigation and should not avoid responsibility.

He warned that police would take strict action if the accused failed to comply with notices issued during the investigation.

Revanth Reddy said he had responsibilities both as Chief Minister and as Home Minister in dealing with the matter.

He stated that five police teams were currently working on the case.

According to the Chief Minister, police first visited Bandi Sanjay’s residence to serve notices and later went to his brother-in-law’s house.

“There are no exceptions for anyone, whether they are from the film industry or politics,” he said.

Revanth Reddy said the case involved the future of children and therefore required careful handling.

He added that police were examining two birth certificates related to the girl involved in the case.

The Chief Minister said the state government would ensure punishment under the law if the accused were found guilty. (NSS)
