Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh on Tuesday urged citizens to ensure peaceful Bakrid celebrations and maintain communal harmony during the festival.
Addressing a Peace Committee meeting at the Cyberabad Commissionerate, the commissioner warned that police would take strict action against anyone attempting to disturb law and order.
M. Ramesh said the Cyberabad police had been making elaborate security arrangements for the past 45 days. He stated that police established check-posts and intensified surveillance on anti-social elements across commissionerate limits.
The commissioner also cautioned the public against fake news, old videos and misleading social media propaganda. He urged citizens to immediately alert police about suspicious online content.
Peaceful Bakrid celebrations focus of Cyberabad police
Senior police officers stressed the importance of communal harmony, sanitation and lawful celebrations during Bakrid festivities. They also appealed for public cooperation to ensure smooth celebrations.
Kukatpally DCP N. Koti Reddy, Serilingampally DCP C.H. Srinivas and Kukatpally DCP Ritiraj attended the meeting.
SB DCP Sudheendra, Crimes DCP Muthyam Reddy and Station House Officers from different police stations also participated.
Several Hindu and Muslim religious leaders and community representatives attended the peace meeting.
