Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police conducted a large-scale awareness programme for private security agencies, security guards and CCTV vendors to strengthen public safety and improve coordination with law enforcement. Nearly 300 stakeholders attended the Cyberabad Police awareness programme at CMR Technical Campus in Kandlakoya, Medchal.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Quthbullapur Zone, N. Koti Reddy.
Cyberabad Police awareness programme stresses legal compliance
Addressing the participants, DCP Koti Reddy said all private security agencies must register under the Private Security Agencies Regulation (PSAR) Act, 2005. He urged agencies to comply with the law and explained their legal responsibilities through real-life case studies.
He said private security personnel played a crucial role in crime prevention and public safety. Therefore, he advised them to maintain visitor registers, verify identities before granting access to restricted areas and immediately report suspicious activities to the police.
The DCP also instructed participants to report unattended objects and security threats without delay. In addition, he asked CCTV vendors to ensure uninterrupted camera operations and promptly report technical problems.
Police advised participants to maintain updated emergency contact details to improve coordination during emergencies.
Additional DCP Purushottam, ACPs Shankar Reddy and Bala Gangireddy, along with inspectors from the zone, attended the programme.
Cyberabad Police said close coordination between private security agencies, CCTV vendors and the police would strengthen the security network across Quthbullapur Zone. Participants welcomed the initiative and assured the police of their full cooperation.
