Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha directed senior Health Department officials to complete the Choutuppal Area Hospital by the end of this month. He also ordered officials to prepare for the hospital’s inauguration in September.
The minister issued the directions during a review meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday. He reviewed the development of government hospitals in the Munugode Assembly constituency and assessed the medical services available to the public. Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy attended the meeting. Health Department Principal Secretary Dr Christina, Health and Family Welfare Commissioner Dr Sangeetha Satyanarayana, Director of Medical Education Dr Vani, Director of Public Health Dr Ravinder Naik, Nalgonda District DMHO Dr Rahul and other officials also participated.
Choutuppal Area Hospital review covers constituency health facilities
Officials briefed the minister on healthcare services, development works and infrastructure improvements across constituency hospitals. MLA Rajagopal Reddy highlighted several issues affecting these hospitals. Rajanarsimha directed officials to resolve the problems immediately.
The minister asked the Principal Secretary to examine the proposal to upgrade the Primary Health Centres at Nampally and Munugode into Community Health Centres. Rajagopal Reddy requested a 100-bed Area Hospital for Chandur. The minister responded positively and directed officials to assess the proposal.
Rajanarsimha reiterated that officials must finish the Choutuppal Area Hospital by the end of this month. He directed them to install equipment for the 100-bed facility. He also instructed officials to appoint doctors and supporting staff before the opening. In addition, he ordered preparations for the September inauguration.
Choutuppal Area Hospital to expand specialised services
The minister said the government would establish a Mother and Child Health Centre and a Trauma Care Centre at Choutuppal. He also said the government would strengthen every hospital in the Munugode constituency with better infrastructure and improved healthcare services.
